Time to introduce our stores
You know our stores. It’s likely that you see them every single day. Whether you
walk past a ‘Snack and Shop’ on your way in to work, or drop in to a roadside ‘On
the Run’ store for a pasry and a fresh coffee.
This retail operation is managed by ROC (Retail Operating Company): the people who
run the refreshment and refuelling end of Esso’s business. We’re a company with big
ambitions and bright ideas that are making us one of the fastest expanding retail
operations in the UK.
Local service - global network
Our 'Snack and Shop' stores are located right in the heart of local communities,
providing everything from the fuel and car accessories you'd expect, to everyday
essentials like bread, milk, newspapers and those things that may not be essential
like chocolate!
'On the Run' is a new concept in customer service on the hoof: a roadside oasis -
with everything from cold drinks and tasty sandwiches to fresh Costa coffee and
baguettes, paninis and croissants, all freshly baked on-site. These stores are
fresh, light and airy, with café-style seating and first class facilities.
Our network currently counts at around 420 stores in the UK and Ireland. We are also
investing in our brand new 'On the Run' stores across the UK. We have more than 100
OTRs now in the SE of England and Dublin. A portfolio of stores offering different
opportunities and challenges for ambitious managers.
